New addition to alloway junction!

This is the newest addition to the alloway junction it was my christmas present. It will probably be upgraded to tmcc this summer. It is a nice looking engine the only thing wrong with it is that it's a noisy runner and the sounds aren't very good compared to todays standards. But that was late 80's early 90's technology. Here are a few pictures.

Mountain almost done

The only thing left to do on the mountain is put up the stone wall between the track and the mountain edge. Here are some progress shots.

Building a mountain

I have been building a mountain over the past few days i thought the back of the layout looked a little boring so i ripped out a sidding that i never used and built this mountain. Here are some pictures of it so far. I will keep you updated on my progress. I always wanted to build a mountain but never wanted to deal with the problems people have with there big engines hitting the portals. Until i found a man on the OGR Fourm "Gizmo" who offered to build me

some oversozed portals. They are 11" wide from inside to inside so i don't think i will have any problems in
the future.

New Backdrops

I bought 3 backdrops from scenery express at York and finally got around to putting them up a week ago. They are in order mountain #1,#2#1. Here are some pictures of the recent upgrade on the alloway junction.

Finished Coal Mine Area

I recently finished the coal mine area here are a few shots of it. The first shot shows and overhead view of the coaling area. The second shot shows a trackside view of it. The coal car in this picture is very big making the coal mine look out of scale even thought it is to scale. The coal car is a premier car I picked up at york for $20. At that price I couldn't say no.

Finished Retaining Wall

There are a few shots of my finished retaining wall. It was been lightly weathered with a little stain and topped off with a few woodland scenics foliage pieces for vines. Overall i am very happy with the outcome of this project. It was inexpensive and the final product looks realistic.

This is a shot od the passenger terminal that is made up of 3 atlas termianals. You can see the gap in the top left corner. This shot was taken from a popup section. Some of the scales and lugage has been purchased and some cam with the terminals.

This is the only unfinished area of the layout this is the 2 track coal mine with a 1 track storage area. This will be finished soon and i will post pictures when it is. In the background you can see the station that matched the terminal above.

Some shots of the alloway junction today

Here is a shot of a k-line ABA f-7 rounding the 0-54 curve. This is a conventional engine that was given to me by my grandfather. I Run in conventional for now anyway. This will probably be one of the engines i upgrade when i switch over to tmcc.

On the right is a shot of a mth blue comet filling up with water at the water tower. On the right you can see the control pannel.

Here is the small 2 track passenger terminal. On the left you can see the engine house and
the patch of trees behind it.

The alloway junction 1 year ago

Welcome to the Alloway Junction

I will be posting the status and updates of my o scale 3 rail model railroad here from now on. Thank you for viewing this.

This is my 9x11 layout. DOne by me a 15 year old kid. The roadnames are a little bit of everything. I am trying to get more prr stuff becasue around 50 years ago it actually ran across the street from me in my small one stop light town.
